Jim Dedes was selected as Volunteer of the Year by the town council; the award was announced during the January 9th town meeting.
He has been a dedicated volunteer for Dewey Beach since early 2005 when he became a member of the Planning and Zoning Committee. Little did he know that he was joining the committee just before the submission of the plans for a 68 foot high hotel at Ruddertowne. He spent the next year and a half in meetings revising the Dewey Beach zoning code. Since then he has been a member of the Search Committee for a new town manager and a member of the Policy and Marketing Committees.
