Note that while every effort has been made to assure that the following information is correct, it must be noted the official versions of these items can only be found at the town hall (105 Rodney Avenue), except that public notices and agendas are also posted at the lifesaving station at the foot of Dagsworthy street.

Our town is governed by a Town Council with the assistance of the town manager and building official and staff as well as the Police Department and the Beach Patrol. There are many Committees, Boards and Commissions which also assist the council, agendas, documents to be considered at the next meeting, and approved minutes of prior meetings are linked from their respective pages (the town council agendas, supporting documents and approved minutes are also found there).

The Town Code is changed occasionally by ordinances, the most recently passed ones are in the section Recently Passed Ordinances. We are also bound by the contents of our Comprehensive Plan.

We hold elections each year to fill the positions of commissioners who have come to the end of their two-year terms. Town meetings are held each month; announcement of the time and place of these meetings as well as those of the committees, boards and commissions, along with their respective associated agendas, may be found elsewhere on this web site.

We have an operating budget and issue periodic financial reports.
