In April 2021, Dewey Beach Marketing Committee launched a campaign to raise funds to help support and enhance the town’s beauty. Based on the success of the recent Dewey Beach & Bay Lights this past winter, the town has approved the Dewey Beach Marketing Committee to lead an ongoing fundraising effort to help cover the costs of keeping the town beautiful.Known as a welcoming and friendly beach town, resident and visitor donations will help keep Dewey Beach colorful with planted flowers, holiday decorations, and other beautification improvements that will be determined based upon the success of the fundraising efforts. Organized by the Dewey Beach Marketing Committee and resident volunteers over the past several months and with approval by Town Council, the hope is to create a beautiful place that everyone can enjoy. To acknowledge people’s generosity for their donation, contributions will be recognized on the Town of Dewey Beach beautification website page at www.townofdeweybeach.com.The Dewey Beach Marketing Committee is also exploring additional recognition opportunities. Longer term, and with town support and input, this recognition may include designing and installing a large permanent feature on the Baywalk with engraved recognition on the back. “Keeping Dewey Beach beautiful and special is an ongoing focus for the town, and this new initiative is meant to help the effort for years to come.The money raised will go directly to Dewey Beach beautification improvements,” said Marketing Committee Chair Drew Martin. “Dewey Beach is a fabulous place to visit, and this ongoing fundraising campaign will help our town continue to create a beautiful and welcoming place for everyone.”
